It was two days before the Halloween Party at Knapford station, and early that morning, Thomas Billinton sneaked out of Tidmouth Hall without waking anyone up. He quickly took the shortest route to the China Clay Pits because he wanted to investigate the area where he saw the strange footprints again. But when he got there, he found Marion digging up the rubble again, and Timothy was beside her with a half empty cart of rocks. Thomas approached Timothy’s cart and looked inside, as well as rummaging through some rocks. “What are you looking for Thomas?” asked Timothy before Marion dumped some more rock into the cart.
